Without pre-treatment or priming, non-toxic water based colours are used to paint our wood, keeping the wood alive and available for children to experience.
Another Ostheimer benchmark is the final treatment of an organic oil. The surface of wood will now be durable against soiling, yet without sealing, thereby keeping the positive characteristics of the untreated wood alive. One of these charactaristics is that the untreaded wood surface, with open pores, makes survival of bacteria very difficult or impossible - as oppossed to a sealed or entirely smooth surface.
